RED STATES ARE DOMINATING SOLAR -- AND THEY'RE TERRIFIED
73% of new residential solar was installed in states Trump won in 2024. EXPOSED.
The FAKE NEWS won’t tell you this. The utility lobby doesn’t want you to know it. The political establishment on both sides has an interest in keeping solar in the “liberal” box.
Here are the actual numbers from the Solar Energy Industries Association.
THE NUMBERS THEY WON’T PUBLISH
According to SEIA’s U.S. Solar Market Insight Q4 2024:
| State | New Residential Solar (2024) | 2024 Presidential Vote |
|---|---|---|
| Texas | #1 in growth | Trump +14 |
| Florida | #2 in growth | Trump +13 |
| Arizona | Top 5 | Trump +5 |
| California | Top 5 | Harris +29 |
| Georgia | Top 10 | Trump +12 |
| North Carolina | Top 10 | Trump +3 |
73% of all new residential solar installations in 2024 were in states Trump carried. Not 51%. Not 60%. 73%.

WHY RED STATES ARE WINNING
Three reasons Trump states are leading the solar revolution — and none of them have anything to do with the climate.
1. HIGH UTILITY RATES + HIGH SOLAR RESOURCES
Texas, Florida, and the Southwest have two things: lots of sun and utilities that have been raising rates aggressively. High rates + high solar production = the math works faster.
Texas electricity rates increased 26% between 2020-2024 (EIA). That’s not a solar argument. That’s a math problem with an obvious solution.

2. PROPERTY RIGHTS CULTURE
Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Georgia all have strong solar access laws that protect homeowners’ rights to install solar without HOA interference. Conservative legislatures in these states protect property rights — including the right to power your own home.
- Florida: Strong HOA solar restriction ban — signed into law
- Texas: Property owner protections codified in state statutes
- Arizona: Some of the oldest solar access laws in the country

3. AMERICAN MANUFACTURING JOBS
Q CELLS built a $2.5 billion solar manufacturing facility in Dalton, Georgia. 2,500 American jobs. Senator Jon Ossoff was there for the ribbon cutting — but so were Republican state officials who understand that manufacturing jobs in Georgia are Georgia jobs, period.
American solar manufacturing is growing in red states because red states want the jobs. Texas, Georgia, and Ohio are leading American solar manufacturing — not California, not New York.

THE STORY THE MEDIA BURIES EVERY QUARTER
SEIA publishes these numbers every quarter. Every quarter, the installation data shows the same trend: red states leading, sun belt dominating, Trump country going solar.
Every quarter, the mainstream media ignores it because it doesn’t fit the “solar is for liberals” narrative they’ve been selling for 15 years.
We’re not going to ignore it.
When Texas and Florida lead every solar growth metric, when 73% of new solar is in Trump-won states, when the biggest new solar factory in America is in Dalton, Georgia — that’s the story. And the story is: WE’RE WINNING.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
If you’re in a red state and you haven’t gone solar yet, you’re leaving money on the table. Your neighbors already figured it out. The Americans who understand energy independence are installing panels — and 73% of them live where you live.
The utility company is banking on your inertia. Don’t give it to them.
